Directions & Parking
Congregation Eitz Chayim is located at 136 Magazine Street in Cambridge. Magazine Street runs north from Memorial Drive in Cambridge to Central Square. Our blue building is located between Putnam Avenue & Tufts Street. Enter either through the front door or through the side door on the left of the building. To reach us by T, take the red line to Central Square. We are a ten-minute walk down Magazine Street. To reach us by car from Harvard Square, take Mount Auburn Street east towards Central Square. Turn right onto Putnam (near Bowl & Board) and proceed past the lights at Western Avenue & River Street. At the next light turn right onto Magazine Street. #136 is the third building on your left. To reach us by car from the Mass Pike, get off at the Cambridge/Allston exit. Stay to the right as you exit (go towards Cambridge). At end of ramp you are fed onto Cambridge Street. Proceed straight ahead across the river. (Cambridge Street becomes River Street as you enter Cambridge.) Go straight through the light at Memorial Drive and take a right at the next light onto Putnam Ave. At first light (approx. 2 blocks), turn right onto Magazine Street. Eitz Chayim is on your left. Parking at Eitz Chayim on Friday Nights Eitz Chayim has an agreement with the City of Cambridge that there will be no ticketing of cars parked within a 2 block radius of EC on Friday nights from 6-10 p.m. in deference to our schedule of services (the same deference Sunday services receive). If you get a ticket (sometimes officers forget), you can protest it by writing a letter and putting it inside the ticket envelope and mailing it to the attention of Laura Bosco. If for any reason your protest is not honored, let the office know and we'll confirm to the city that you should not have been ticketed. You could also put a note in your window saying you are attending Friday Night Religious Services. |
