Title: Spinning Text: Chapter Two in the Beautification of our Torah
Speaker(s): Catherine Tutter & Penina Weinberg
Start: 5:00 pm
End: 8:00 pm
Location: Eitz Chayim's Community Room
Description:

Come enjoy an evening celebrating Jewish texts that both emanate from our lives, and are brought into our lives. Participants will learn how to spin their stories into yarn – yarn that will be woven to make a new Torah binder, or wimple, for our community’s Torah. Our experience of transforming the texts of our lives will be enriched by a study of biblical and rabbinic texts about women spinning in and out of the marketplace.

Your participation is an act of hiddur mitzvah, or beautification of the
commandments. All are welcome, even if you have already spun your story at
Rosh Hashanah. There is no maximum number, but we do need at least 8
spinners to make the evening to work. Spinners need to arrive promptly at
5:00 pm.

The evening will include a Shabbat potluck meal and Havdalah service.
Everyone please bring a vegetarian or dairy meal to share! All other materials will be provided.

Please RSVP with your name and phone number to Catherine Tutter at ctutter@gmail.com
