The atomic bombs that changed the world on August 6 and August 9, 1945 were the products of immense work. A large number of Jewish scientists were involved with creating the bombs. They were also divided about their usage. Can we learn anything from their debate over the bomb?

Steve Cohen is a member of Eitz Chayim and on the faculty at Tufts University where he was voted Professor of the Year in 2007 by the Tufts Student Senate. He worked with Facing History and Ourselves for twenty years and has published articles about teaching controversial issues such as the Vietnam War, the Atomic Bomb and the Holocaust.
