High Holiday Services

The Eitz Chayim community welcomes returning visitors and newcomers for the High Holy Days and throughout the year. As autumn approaches, our thoughts turn to the season of Rosh Hashanah and the Days of Repentance. We invite you to come and reflect with us, and to welcome the New Year as part of our Eitz Chayim community.

High Holy Day services will be held both at Congregation Eitz Chayim’s home at 136 Magazine Street, Cambridge, and at the Morse School, 40 Granite Street, a few blocks down Magazine Street toward the river.

Selichot, Saturday, September 12th, 8 pm @ Eitz Chayim

Erev Rosh Hashana Friday, September 18,
6:30 pm Kiddush @ Eitz Chayim
7:00 Torah procession from Eitz Chayim to Morse School
7:30 pm Services @ Morse School

Rosh Hashanah, Saturday, September 19th,
9:30 am Services and Child Care @ Morse School
1:15 pm Kiddush @ Eitz Chayim
1:30 pm Luncheon @ Eitz Chayim


Second Day Rosh Hashanah, Sunday, September 20th,
10:00am @ Eitz Chayim
12 pm Community Potluck @ Eitz Chayim
1:30 pm Tashlich (walk to river)

Kol Nidre, Sunday, September 27th, 7 pm @ Morse School

Yom Kippur, Monday, September 28th,
9:30 am Services and Child Care @ Morse School including break time and Yiskor
6:30 pm Community Break Fast @ Eitz Chayim

To attend High Holy Day services at Congregation Eitz Chayim, please fill in the reservation form.

There is no fee for our members and $200 per person, for one or all services for visitors and newcomers. Should you join Congregation Eitz Chayim during the coming year, that fee will be applied retroactively toward your membership dues.

We encourage your entire family to join in celebrating the High Holy Days at Eitz Chayim. Child care and children’s educational activities will be provided for 1st day Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur daytime services; please fill in the Child Care form that is included in the High Holiday reservation form. .
